Return to the wild
Where a dog or cat is injured but it’s a community animal and they are happy in that environment, we will return them back.
Outcomes
For animals that have been ill or injured, there is the option to return to the wild, return to the owner, or rehome them.

When treating an animal for a resident in Cape Verde who cannot afford vet care, the animal will be neutered and vaccinated if necessary, prior to returning them to the owner — with continued support with food if they are struggling.
Some dogs and cats find free-roaming life difficult, resulting in malnourishment and sickness. These animals we will try to re-home — either in Cape Verde or Europe.
If you can offer a forever home in Cape Verde or Europe, get in touch. We prepare animals with the veterinary care they need before travel or placement.
Tell us about your household, experience, and location — we will respond as soon as the volunteer team can.
