What we do
Care that meets animals where they are
Unlike a single shelter, we work across Sal — beaches, hotels, communities, and our emergency recovery space.
Vet care & neutering
Working with Sal's veterinary team to treat illness, vaccinate, and neuter — reducing feral populations responsibly.
Emergency shelter
A secure space for dogs to recover from injury or illness before returning to the community or moving to a forever home.
Rehoming across borders
When free-roaming life isn't right for an animal, we find loving homes in Cape Verde or Europe — with full vet preparation and ongoing support for adopters.

Custom wheelchairs that save lives
When a dog loses the use of their legs, euthanasia is often the only option offered. Our trustees designed and build custom wheelchairs on the island — giving otherwise healthy dogs a real chance at life.
It's the kind of hands-on, inventive care that defines who we are: volunteers who see every animal as worth fighting for.
